WOLFGANG WIESEN, EFIAP/b I take photographs so that I can find out what something looks like when it has been photographed. Garry Winogrand |
Portfolios of my work have already appeared in several photographic magazines,
and in 1995 I published my first collection of black and white infrared photographs
under the title INFRAROT in my own publishing company editionphoto.de
Three years later my collaboration with the well known German poet Johannes Kühn
resulted in the book HAB EIN AUGE MIT MIR (LEND ME YOUR EYES) with black
and white photographs and poems.
I am a member of the German Photographic Association (Deutscher Verband für Fotografie,
DVF) and of the worldwide association International Federation of Photographic
Art (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique, FIAP).
In recognition of my successes in photo exhibitions at national and international
level, I was awarded in 1996 the title of Artist of the International Federation
of Photographic Art (AFIAP) and in 2000 Excellence FIAP (EFIAP).
In 2008 I was elected FIAP liaison officer for
the German Photographic Association ( DVF).
One of my greatest successes was in 1998 when I won the first prize and the gold
medal in a national competition staged for readers of the German daily newspapers,
BLENDE 98.
In January 2007 the Czech magazine PHOTOART published a portfolio with my latest infrared pictures.
After having purchased a scanner
and a digital camera, I now mainly work in a purely digital workflow.
In 2009 my monchrome work "Alter Wagen" was accepted for the Hahnemühle Anniversary Collection and shown in exhibitions worldwide.
My photo "Tracks" won a Honourable Mention in the 2010 Sony World Photography Awards and was published in the corresponding book.
In 2011 I was awarded the title of Excellence FIAP level bronze (EFIAP/b) by the International Federation
of Photographic Art (FIAP).
